But it’s the restaurant, The Paddock, set within a soaring contemporary structure of stone and glass, and fitted with an expansive bar and leather lounges arranged around a massive fireplace, that’s the heart of the farm and a magnet for food-loving guests.

Located on a private polo and Wagyu property, and nestled beside the World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park, the brand-new Beechmont Estate is unlike anywhere else. Despite its luxe surrounds, you’ll feel at home in the retreat’s farm-style cabins, luxury pavilions and lounging in front of the Clubhouse’s large stone fireplace.

From the outside, my pavilion is unassuming and free of ostentation. But step inside and the generously proportioned space practically grins at the trick it’s played. You’re in the lap of luxury here, it whispers, but we don’t need to shout about it. One long wall is of floor-to-ceiling glass, offering views out over rolling hills.

Built on a privately-owned Wagyu and polo farm and only opening in September, Beechmont Estate brings a whole new kind of country elegance to the Gold Coast Hinterland.
